Netflix’s upcoming mystery-horror fantasy series “Dead-End Job” has released new stills featuring its star-studded cast — and the images hint at a part-time gig nobody should want.
50 Times the Pay, 100 Times the Terror
The series stars Lee Jae Wook as Hyeok Jun, a young man drowning in debt who stumbles across a strange employment agency offering part-time jobs that pay 50 times the usual hourly wage. Tempted by wages far beyond anything he could earn elsewhere, he accepts what looks like a dream part-time job — only to be thrown into a terrifying, hellish workplace full of horrors he never imagined.
The newly released stills tease the strange incidents lurking behind the ordinary-looking jobs. In one image, Hyeok Jun — working as a milk deliveryman — stands frozen in an ominous atmosphere. Other stills show a tense standoff at a convenience store, an encounter with a suspicious clown, and Hyeok Jun turning up in an unfamiliar location. With every new part-time job bringing fresh threats, the big question is whether he can survive them all.
A Cast Full of Mystery
Go Min Si plays Yeon Ju, a mysterious woman who appears before Hyeok Jun after he experiences the unbelievable. Her expressions shift between a bright smile and an empty stare, and she remains fixated on uncovering the secrets behind the lucrative part-time jobs and the Spider Staffing Agency — though her true intentions are hard to read.
Kim Min Ha appears as Ji Yun, who is drawn into her own unusual incident, while Lee Hee Joon rounds out the main cast. With this lineup and a premise that blends workplace satire with genuine horror, “Dead-End Job” is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most intriguing upcoming K-dramas.
The series also taps into something very real: the desperation of gig-economy life. Hyeok Jun’s mountain of debt and his willingness to take a suspiciously well-paying job will feel painfully relatable to plenty of viewers — which only makes the horror hit harder when the “dream job” reveals its true face.
Netflix has had enormous success with Korean genre series that mix social commentary with high-concept horror and fantasy, and “Dead-End Job” looks designed to continue that streak. Between the eerie stills, the strong cast, and a premise with genuine bite, this is one to add to the watchlist.
