Fallen Zeus and the Slave Boy Manga Moves to Zero-Sum Online in Spring 2027

Ei Ohitsuji’s manga Ochibure Zeus to Dorei no Ko (Fallen Zeus and the Slave Boy) is getting a fresh start with a new publisher. The November issue of Asahi Shimbun Publications’ Nemuki+ magazine revealed that the series will move to Ichijinsha’s Zero-Sum Online manga website in spring 2027, marking a major shift for the ongoing story.

A Restart From Chapter One

Ohitsuji confirmed the news personally on X/Twitter, adding that the series will resume on Zero-Sum Online starting from the first chapter, this time with revisions and corrections added throughout. The mangaka noted that the first two chapters will look quite different from their current versions after the overhaul, giving long-time readers something new to experience.

Despite the changes, fans don’t need to worry about the story breaking apart. Ohitsuji assured readers that the latest fifth compiled volume will connect seamlessly with the upcoming sixth volume, which Ichijinsha will publish. So the narrative bridge between the two publishers stays intact.

Digital Sales Halting October 31

One practical note for collectors: sales of the manga’s digital version will halt on October 31. However, volumes that readers have already purchased will remain available even after distribution ends, so your library is safe.

Ohitsuji originally launched the manga in Nemuki+ in February 2022, with Asahi Shimbun Publications releasing five volumes, the most recent in March 2025. The story’s first part wrapped up with the “Egypt Arc” in December 2025, followed by a hiatus that Ohitsuji said was for restructuring the production setup and recovering their health.

An Old Homecoming

Interestingly, this isn’t Ohitsuji’s first time working with Ichijinsha. Their manga Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court launched in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine back in December 2020, with the 11th volume hitting shelves on September 30. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes it in English. The Zero-Sum move should feel like familiar territory.
