Roman Reigns isn’t pretending to be a workhorse — and he’s perfectly fine with it. In a new interview with Sam Roberts, the WWE superstar laid out exactly why fans only see him a handful of times a year, and it comes down to one mantra: “quality over quantity every single day of the week.”

Only 20 Matches Since 2024
Reigns’ workload has featured him in only 20 matches since the start of 2024. When Roberts joked that the Tribal Chief takes part in 10 or 11 matches a year, Reigns scoffed at the number. “Don’t push it, 10?” he laughed. “We’re at 8, alright? Sprinkle some TV appearances around that, you know.”
The former Undisputed WWE Champion explained that any level of physicality now has to meet his requirements. “It’s got to be on a Saturday or a very important Sunday. It’s got to check off one of my dates,” he said. “There’s some requirements that come with that level of physicality for me.”
Protecting His Body
Reigns admitted he doesn’t love taking bumps — a remarkable confession from someone who chose it as a living. “I don’t like to fall down at all and I some reason chose to do that for a living, but that’s a part of the deal,” he said. With a schedule this selective, every appearance carries weight, and WWE has leaned into making Reigns feel like a true special attraction.
Elsewhere in the interview, Reigns doubled down on his status at the top of the business, saying he “owns that shit” when it comes to professional wrestling. After a decade of carrying WWE through multiple eras, the confidence is earned.
