The Baltimore Ravens could be getting their superstar back sooner than expected. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to return for Sunday’s Week 6 clash with the Cleveland Browns, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

The two-time NFL MVP has been sidelined with a sprained left ankle suffered during Baltimore’s Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. Jackson missed the second half of that game and left the stadium in a walking boot, then sat out the entire following week of practice before missing the Ravens’ Week 5 trip to Atlanta.
The Injury and the Road Back
When Jackson went down against Tennessee, there were fears the Ravens could be without their franchise quarterback for an extended stretch. Last week, sources told ESPN he still had only a slim chance of facing the Falcons — and he was ultimately ruled out on Friday after failing to practice even once during the week.
But the comeback trail has been aggressive. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Jackson has been working like crazy to get back on the field, and Ravens head coach Jesse Minter told reporters Monday that the quarterback was definitely doing better, praising him for doing everything possible to speed up his recovery. Wednesday’s practice report — followed by Thursday and Friday’s sessions — will give the clearest picture yet of his availability for Cleveland.
Huntley Held the Fort
In Jackson’s absence, backup Tyler “Snoop” Huntley delivered one of the performances of the young season. Huntley rallied Baltimore to a 30-23 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, throwing a game-tying touchdown to Devontez Walker with 40 seconds left in regulation before punching in the game-winner himself on a 1-yard run in overtime. He finished 24-of-32 for 201 yards and two touchdowns, adding 20 rushing yards on six carries.
The win kept Baltimore atop the AFC North at 3-1, with the Browns and the rest of the division sitting at 3-2. Jackson has been in superb form this season, completing 68 of 96 passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception, while adding 144 rushing yards and a score on 19 carries. The numbers also underline his value: with Jackson under center, the Ravens are 79-32 and average 28.4 points per game; without him since 2019, they are 7-11.
Whether Jackson suits up in Cleveland remains a day-by-day decision — but for a Ravens team already rolling, the return of its two-time MVP would be an enormous boost in a crucial divisional showdown.
