Pro Dota 2 star 23savage had to carry a game under the most absurd pressure imaginable — not in a tournament, but in front of police detectives. The Thai hard carry claims he played a full Dota 2 match to prove he was a real esports player after officers raided his team’s bootcamp.

A Police Raid On The Bootcamp
In a viral Facebook post shared on October 13, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon — who plays for Xipto Esports — said the team’s bootcamp in Kuala Lumpur was stormed by police on Sunday evening. The officers confiscated the players’ passports and phones, shut down the internet, and turned off the computers.
23savage was then handcuffed alongside teammates Saieful “Fbz” Ilham and Chon Kien “Oli” Chan. The trio was interrogated for roughly two hours about what they did for a living and whether they were genuinely professional gamers.
A Detective Who Knew Dota
The situation took a turn when one detective — reportedly wearing a France football shirt with Olise’s number 11 — said he knew Dota 2 and had heard of Fnatic. 23savage showed the officers his Instagram account, and one of them recognized Malaysian media personality Ms. Puiyi in his photos. That helped convince them he was a genuine public figure.
With tensions easing, the detectives removed 23savage’s handcuffs — his alone — and invited him to prove his skills in a live game. Playing Kez as hard carry while an officer watched, he ripped through the match and finished with a staggering 32 kills. That was enough. The officers released the whole team.
The Nutella Tax
The story ended with one final twist: according to 23savage, the detectives helped themselves to two jars of his Nutella on the way out. Despite the ordeal, he described it as a good experience.
Not everyone believes it — commenters quickly called the story a joke, and 23savage has been actively defending it in the replies. Either way, it is one of the wildest esports stories of the year.
