Newly released stills show her character, genius surgeon Gye Soo Jung, lying on an emergency room bed with her clothes soaked through with blood — a shocking reversal for a heroine who usually dominates every scene she walks into. Based on the hit Japanese series of the same name, the drama follows Soo Jung as she “operates” on a corruption-ridden hospital establishment with nothing but her own skill.
Emergency Treatment, Panicked Faces
The stills heighten the tension: Emergency Medicine Specialist Kim Sung Jin (Heo Joon Seok) is seen frantically administering emergency treatment, while intern Park Tae Kyung (Kim Woo Seok) looks on in panic. And in the most loaded detail of all, Hospital Director Bu Seung Kwon (Son Hyun Joo) — the embodiment of the very establishment Soo Jung has been fighting — is seen standing over her bed.
What Happened to the Genius Surgeon?
The production team dropped the stills with no explanation, leaving viewers to wonder how the supposedly untouchable surgeon ended up the patient. Is this the fallout of her war against the hospital’s corruption — or something far more personal? The answers arrive tonight.
