SteelSeries Sensei Pro and Rival Pro 8K Gaming Mice Promise ‘Infinite’ Battery Life, Launch Nov 15

SteelSeries is back with a pair of mice that want to end the wired-vs-wireless debate for good. The company has unveiled the Sensei Pro and Rival Pro, shipping November 15 at a launch price of $179.99 — and they’re available for preorder now.

The two mice are essentially the same animal with one key difference: the Sensei Pro uses a symmetrical layout for both right- and left-handed players, while the Rival Pro goes ergonomic for right-handers. Both also come in Mini variants for smaller hands.

“Infinite Battery” Via Hot-Swappable Cells

The headline feature is SteelSeries’ hot-swappable battery system — the same concept as the acclaimed Arctis Nova Pro headsets. The box includes two removable, rechargeable batteries: one lives in your mouse while the other charges in the base station. Each cell runs up to 120 hours per charge, so swaps should be rare — you effectively never have to think about battery life again.

Ultra Wide Band Wireless at 8K Polling

The mice connect over ultra wide band wireless (6GHz and up), sidestepping the crowded 2.4GHz spectrum shared by nearly every other wireless peripheral. Paired with an 8K polling rate, the promise is zero dropouts, stutters or lag — the kind of spec sheet aimed directly at players still clinging to wired connections for reliability.

New tech doesn’t come cheap, but if the “infinite battery” claim and UWB connection deliver, these could genuinely reset expectations for competitive gaming mice.
