By The Boogeyman is lurking around WWE again — and his timing is definitely going to get people talking. After spending years teasing another run and even asking Triple H to put him back in the game, the WWE legend has now turned up backstage at SmackDown.
The Boogeyman revealed the surprise appearance himself on Instagram, posting a video from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on October 16. He even made his way around the WWE ring while staying completely in character, delivering the kind of warning only he can: “Just because you don’t see me, doesn’t mean I’m not there. I’m the Boogeyman and I’m still coming to get you.”
Campaigning for One More Run
This is not the first time The Boogeyman has made his intentions public. Back in July 2025, he posted a video showing off his physique and going through an intense workout, and he didn’t hide who it was aimed at — directly calling out Triple H in the caption: “Put me in the game Triple H… #WWELEGEND BOOGEYMAN.”
He hasn’t been a regular part of WWE television since his 2009 release, though he has never fully disappeared from the company’s world. He returned for the 2015 Royal Rumble, signed a Legends deal that same year, and has kept the character alive ever since with sporadic appearances and social media teases.
What Does It Mean?
Bottom line: The Boogeyman knows exactly how to get fans wondering. Showing up backstage at SmackDown, walking the ring in full character and telling everyone he’s “still coming to get you” is a pretty effective way to make sure people keep watching for him. Whether WWE actually has something planned for the legend remains to be seen — but after publicly lobbying Triple H for over a year, he is making it very hard to ignore him.
