Black Clover Season 2 is not wasting any time. The anime has revealed a brand-new Devil Union Asta character visual, unveiled right after the premiere of Episode 3 on October 17. The striking visual spotlights Asta in his fearsome Devil Union form, a powered-up state that has become one of the franchise’s most iconic looks.

Season 2 Is Off to a Flying Start
The new season officially kicked off on October 3, 2026, with Crunchyroll streaming it worldwide. Dropping a fresh character visual just three episodes in signals the production committee’s confidence in the season’s momentum. Fans who have been waiting to see Asta’s devil-infused power animated again finally have official artwork to feast on.
Music and Marathon Storytelling
The season’s opening theme, titled “Kienai Riyuu” (The Reason That Won’t Disappear), is performed by WANIMA, a band whose high-energy sound matches the shonen spirit of the series. The theme sets the tone for what promises to be a heavy-hitting arc.
For newcomers, the story follows Asta and Yuno, two orphans raised in the same church in a world where magic is everything. While Yuno is blessed with exceptional magical talent, Asta has none at all. Instead, he wields a rare five-leaf clover grimoire that grants him Anti-Magic, the power to negate and repel spells. Together, they chase the same dream: becoming the Wizard King.
A Legendary Manga Reaches the Screen Again
The Black Clover manga by Yuki Tabata ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2015 to 2023 before moving to Jump GIGA, and it wrapped up on May 1 after eleven years of serialization. The first anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot delivered 170 episodes between 2017 and 2021, while the movie Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King premiered in June and streams on Netflix.
With Season 2 now underway, this is the victory lap fans have been waiting for.
