The January transfer window is still months away, but the rumour mill is already in overdrive. Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly ready to push for a move away from Arsenal, while Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has his eyes on two Barcelona stars and Liverpool are lining up alternatives in midfield. Here is the pick of Sunday’s transfer gossip.

Gyokeres Set To Push For Arsenal Exit
The headline story comes from TeamTalk, who report that Viktor Gyokeres, 28, is set to push for a move away from Arsenal in January because of a lack of playing time. The Sweden forward was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe when he arrived at the Emirates, but frustration over minutes could spark one of the window’s biggest sagas if Arsenal refuse to budge.
It would be a stunning development for a player of Gyokeres’s profile — the kind of goal-poacher clubs across Europe would queue for. Expect this one to run and run.
Alonso Targets Barcelona Duo
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly planning to raid his old rivals in January. According to Football365, the Blues boss wants to add depth to his squad with two signings from Barcelona: French defender Jules Kounde, 27, and Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, 29. Both are nailed-on starters at the Camp Nou, so prising them away would take enormous money — and plenty of persuasion.
Chelsea are also interested in Mathis Albert, the 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund and USA winger who has made just one senior appearance for the German side, per FootballTransfers. And the Blues are in advanced talks to sign Moroccan winger Gessime Yassine, 20, from Strasbourg, according to Ekrem Konur.
Liverpool Line Up Midfield Alternatives
Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, 26, if they cannot secure 23-year-old Alex Scott from Bournemouth, reports CaughtOffside. With the Reds reshaping their engine room under Andoni Iraola, a January addition looks increasingly likely.
Elsewhere, AC Milan are preparing to offer Adrien Rabiot, 31, a new contract until 2030 after his impressive start to the season, via Corriere dello Sport. Roma and Brazil defender Wesley, 23, is attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle (SportWitness), while former Brighton defender Solly March, 32, is set to join Championship side Charlton on a free transfer, per Football Insider.
One to watch for the future: IFK Goteborg’s 17-year-old Swedish midfielder Oliver Mansson has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea (TeamTalk). Finally, Arsenal and Manchester United have ruled out any interest in Sporting and Uruguay left-back Maxi Araujo, 26, according to Sport Witness — consider that door closed.
