SBS’s “Inkigayo” will not be airing this week. According to SBS, the October 18 episode of the weekly music show has been canceled due to baseball coverage — disappointing news for K-pop fans looking forward to this week’s performances.

Baseball Takes The Timeslot
Instead of “Inkigayo,” SBS will be airing Game 2 of the 2026 KBO League semi-playoffs between the Kia Tigers and the LG Twins starting at 1:40 p.m. KST. The postseason baseball clash bumps the beloved music program from its usual Sunday slot — a familiar occurrence during Korean baseball’s playoff season, when live sports routinely take priority on the major networks.
When Does “Inkigayo” Return?
Fans won’t have to wait too long. “Inkigayo” will return to air next week on October 25 at 3:20 p.m. KST, back with the usual lineup of performances, comeback stages, and the race for first place. The show remains one of the big three weekly music programs alongside KBS’s “Music Bank” and MBC’s “Music Core,” and competition for the weekly trophy has been fierce throughout October.
For now, though, baseball fans get the spotlight — and K-pop fans get a week off before the next round of performances.
