Ludwig Kaiser is heading back to court today — and this time, he’s bringing his girlfriend into the fight. The WWE star’s legal team has officially named Andrea Martinez Bazarte as a defense witness, just hours before his scheduled 1:40 PM hearing in Orlando, as they push to get his battery charge thrown out.

According to a court filing obtained by Ringside News, Kaiser’s attorney Thomas D. Sommerville submitted the defense witness list on Monday morning at 9:44 AM — naming Bazarte as a key witness. It’s a significant development, given that she was reportedly present during the confrontation that landed Kaiser in legal trouble.
The April Incident
Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, was arrested in May following an April 23 incident involving Richard Reap at Kaiser’s Orlando apartment complex. Reap claims the wrestler punched and pushed him after an argument inside an elevator.
But the defense tells a very different story. According to Kaiser’s legal team, Reap became aggressive, used offensive language, and even threatened to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Bazarte. Kaiser admits he pushed Reap — but insists he was protecting himself and his girlfriend because he believed Reap was about to attack them.
Stand Your Ground Defense
With Bazarte now officially listed as a defense witness, she could offer crucial firsthand testimony about what really happened that day. The filing doesn’t confirm whether she’ll testify at today’s hearing, but her name appearing on the witness list just hours before court is certainly worth watching.
Kaiser’s attorneys are asking the judge to dismiss the misdemeanor battery charge entirely, arguing his actions were protected under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Meanwhile, Reap has recently had another attorney formally enter the case on his behalf — setting the stage for a heated day in that Orlando courtroom.
