From Streaming Sensation to Arena Tours
Strawberry Prince formed in 2016 and built its massive following through videos on streaming platforms, turning internet fame into a full-fledged entertainment empire. The group has since inspired a smartphone game, launched regular concert tours that now span five arenas nationwide, and made their debut on Japan’s most-watched music program, the Kōhaku Uta Gassen (“Red and White Song Contest”), in December 2023.
The group is also a fixture in the anime world. Strawberry Prince performed theme songs for Yo-kai Gakuen Y and Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress, with members lending their voices to the Yo-kai Gakuen cast as well. Their story even reached theaters: the Strawberry Prince Origin Story movie, titled Strawberry School Festival!!!!, premiered in July 2024 and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
What This Means for SutoPuri Fans
Graduations are always bittersweet in idol culture, but the structure here suggests continuity rather than collapse. With Nanamori. still steering the group from behind the scenes as producer and manager, Strawberry Prince’s concerts, releases, and arena tours look set to continue — just with a new lineup and a new sound shaped in part by the person who helped build it from the start.
Satomi’s solo career, meanwhile, gives fans something new to follow. Idol graduations in Japan often launch bigger individual careers, and his loyal audience will be watching to see where he lands.
