Love Live! Hasu no Sora TV Anime Reveals 7-Episode Run and January 10, 2027 Debut

The next chapter of the Love Live! universe has a premiere date. The television anime for Love Live! Hasu no Sora Jogakuin School Idol Club will debut on January 10, 2027, airing a compact seven-episode run that follows the brand-new 106th class of Hasunosora Girls’ Academy.

The official website unveiled a new key visual alongside the announcement, and also revealed fresh character visuals for the 106th class — the first time the project has pushed beyond the 103rd through 105th generations that fans know from the game and the recent anime film.

When and Where the Anime Airs

The series premieres January 10 at 10:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX, with later broadcasts that same day on BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and Shizuoka Broadcasting System. Hokkaido Broadcasting picks it up on January 11, followed by Hokuriku Broadcasting on January 17.

The seven episodes will trace the characters’ lives across April to June of their school year, framing the story as a school-life drama about the newest idols finding their footing. That tight seasonal window suggests a focused, self-contained arc rather than a sprawling year-long saga — a format that has worked well for several recent Love Live! projects.

The Staff Behind the Project

Direction comes from Gō Kurosaki (Shikizakura) at studio Sublimation, with Fumiaki Maruto (Engage Kiss, White Album 2) writing the script and Haruko Iizuka (Ensemble Stars!, Horimiya) designing the characters. Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) composes the music with Lantis handling music production — a heavyweight lineup for a franchise that lives and dies by its songs.

The core staff largely carries over from the Bloom Garden Party anime film that opened in Japanese theaters on May 8, which followed the 103rd class through their final day before graduation. The main change: Hikari Komiya takes over as color key artist, with Fumika Takahashi joining as compositing director of photography.

From Game Shutdown to TV Screen

The Hasunosora project has had a turbulent year. The smartphone game that anchored it, Link! Like! Love Live!, ended service on June 30 after launching in April 2023, and its publisher Odd No. filed for bankruptcy on August 5. The TV anime therefore doubles as a soft reset — a way for the franchise’s “365 days together” concept to live on without the game.

It’s a big bet on the next generation. The 106th class visuals unveiled alongside the announcement are the first public look at characters fans have never met, and the official announcement frames them as “newly met girls” kicking off a story of inherited dreams. For a franchise born in 2010 that has spun off Sunshine!!, Nijigasaki, Superstar!! and Ikizu Live!, the Hasunosora series is the latest proof that Love Live! keeps reinventing its idol formula rather than retiring it.
