The Eleceed TV anime has been pushed to April 2027. The official website for the television anime adaptation of author Jeho Son and artist ZHENA’s hit webtoon ELECEED began streaming an English-subtitled trailer on Wednesday, confirming the new premiere window — a delay from the 2026 debut originally announced by Amuse Creative Studio. Fans will now have to wait a little longer to see Jiwoo Seo and Kayden brought to life.

What the Trailer Reveals
The trailer introduces the story’s central duo. High schooler Jiwoo Seo lives in fear while hiding his own mysterious power, cut off from the hidden world of the “Awakened” — people with superhuman abilities. Everything changes when he nurses an injured stray cat back to health, only for the battered animal to suddenly speak.
That cat turns out to be Kayden, the strongest of the Awakened, transformed by mysterious means and unable to return to his human form. Forced to live with Jiwoo, the solitary, unrivaled powerhouse drags the reserved teenager into the organizations and conspiracies of the Awakened world. The cast includes Junya Enoki as Jiwoo Seo, Tasuku Hatanaka as the mysterious transfer student Wooin, Setsuji Satō as the research-obsessed Dr. Delein, Hayato Dojima as the hot-headed Jisuk Yoo, and Shizuka Itō as Jiyoung Yoo, the young leader of one of Japan’s largest Awakened organizations, Mythos.
The Staff Behind the Anime
The production brings together an impressive lineup. Hiroshi Nishikiori, known for IDOLiSH7 the Movie LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD and Honey Lemon Soda, is directing the series at DandeLion Animation Studio, the studio behind The First Slam Dunk. Yousuke Kuroda of My Hero Academia fame is writing and overseeing the series scripts, while Minami Sakura of Gridman Universe handles character design. Masato Katō, Mina Ōsawa, and Kōji Watanabe serve as sub-character designers, with Sakura and Katō also acting as chief animation supervisors.
Why Fans Will Wait a Little Longer
The delay stings, but Eleceed’s track record suggests it will be worth it. Since its debut in 2018, the webtoon has been serialized in more than 10 languages and remains a consistent top performer on NAVER WEBTOON’s battle-action charts across North America, Asia, and Europe, with over 1.7 billion views worldwide. Son’s previous work, Noblesse, already proved its anime appeal with a 2020 television adaptation by Production I.G that streamed on Crunchyroll. With this caliber of staff behind it, the April 2027 premiere gives the production the time it needs to match the webtoon’s explosive action.
