Netflix Stock Crashes to Two-Year Low After Weak Earnings and $300M Ad Revenue Cut

Netflix is having its worst week on Wall Street in two years. Shares of the streaming giant plunged 7% in premarket trading Wednesday to under $64, dragging the stock down nearly 30% year-to-date — its lowest point since August 2024.

The selloff followed Netflix’s Q3 2026 earnings report, which showed an ongoing softening in top-line growth. The company’s Q4 revenue guidance also landed slightly below Wall Street’s expectations, piling on investor anxiety about the streamer’s growth story.

The $300 million ad miss

The biggest red flag came from the advertising business. Netflix now expects 2026 ad sales to hit $2.7 billion — $300 million lighter than previously forecast. The company blamed the slower-than-expected rollout of “some ad product capabilities,” a sign its ad-tier monetization engine is still sputtering even years into the experiment.

What revives revenue growth?

For a company that once looked unstoppable, the question is whether content spending, live events, and gaming bets can reaccelerate revenue — or whether the streaming growth story has permanently plateaued. Investors are clearly losing patience: at two-year lows, Netflix needs a breakout hit or a bold new revenue line to win them back.
