Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has never been shy with his opinions — and in a new interview, he heaped praise on AEW President Tony Khan in classic Nature Boy fashion.

Speaking with Biff Poggi of NewsNation, Flair opened up about his relationship with Khan, painting a picture of a generous boss who looks after him.
“He’s a Nice Guy… I Work for Him and I Don’t Do Anything”
“He’s a nice guy; he’s generous. I work for him and I don’t do anything. I think he takes care of me out of respect for me. He grew up on me. He’s just a wonderful guy,” Flair said.
The 16-time world champion contrasted Khan’s loyalty with what he’s seen elsewhere, saying people in WWE seem to be “hanging onto their job” because so many longtime contributors have been let go — including, he claimed, two of the people who worked on his Peacock documentary.
Then came the headline-grabbing claim: Flair said Tony Khan may be the greatest wrestling promoter of all time. “Tony has a group of people which I’m sure they do at WWE, that he circles up with and Tony does it right there,” Flair said, adding that Khan may not be “as smart as Vince McMahon” but is generous “to a fault.”
Still With AEW?
In early 2026, Fightful Select reported that it was believed Flair was still under contract to AEW — and this interview certainly makes it sound like the relationship remains strong. The Nature Boy, it seems, is living well in his role as an AEW ambassador.
Whether you agree with his GOAT promoter pick or not, one thing is clear: Ric Flair isn’t short on loyalty to the man signing his checks.
