Bandai Namco has tightened the release window for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 — and the update came with a nod to the players themselves. The multiplayer-enabled brawler, sequel to 2016’s fan favorite, is now slated for the second half of 2027, narrowing the previously announced 2027 window to a six-month span.

Built together with the players
The announcement came alongside new details on battle customization and PvE missions. Producer Masayuki Hirano used the update to address the community directly, saying the team has spent the past several months revealing information and collecting valuable feedback and survey results.
“Based on the feedback and survey results we have gathered, we have already held discussions with the development team and announced certain areas where we intend to make improvements in response,” Hirano said.
The game — coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC — is leaning into a bigger multiplayer focus than its predecessors, with four-player squads in missions and the new Souls system that lets players summon classic characters and have them fight alongside their created character.
Fan feedback already shaping the game
The feedback loop matters because fans have been vocal. One of the most debated changes is to the Awakening mode: in Xenoverse 3, power-ups like Super Saiyan are a 60-second limited boost, where the first two games let players maintain their transformations indefinitely. Players have been pushing hard for a mastery-style mechanic that lets transformations stay permanent — and Hirano’s message suggests the team is listening.
For a series that was supported for nearly a decade after Xenoverse 2, the stakes are high. “Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a series that we build together with the players through launch, and throughout its post launch life as well,” Hirano said, adding that the team may “keep you waiting a little longer until our next update” but is “fully committed to making 2027 a great year for Dragon Ball game fans.”
