The series is directed by Katsumi Ono (Symphogear AXZ, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s) at Satelight, with series scripts overseen by Shin Yoshida (Naruto Shippuden) and character designs by Akira Okuma. The composer team includes Takashi Omama (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury), Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shu Kanematsu. CLAN QUEEN performs the opening theme “Warning!!” while Who-ya Extended performs the ending theme “ICARUS.”
What Is Psyren About? The Story So Far
One day, high schooler Ageha Yoshina picks up a mysterious “red phone card” left behind in a public telephone booth. Days later, his childhood friend Sakurako Amamiya, who had the same card, suddenly vanishes. Searching for her, Ageha is drawn into rumors of a nationwide string of mysterious disappearances tied to a secret organization known only as “Psyren.” When he accesses the group, a deadly game begins that will change his fate forever.
Iwashiro serialized Psyren in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2007 to 2010, and Viz Media released all 16 volumes in English from 2011 to 2014. Crucially, licensor REMOW has stated the anime will fully adapt the manga through its conclusion — rare reassurance for fans of the cult-classic series.
