Could Sheamus be AEW-bound? A new update suggests it’s not off the table — but it’s not imminent either. Fightful Select reports there doesn’t seem to be “a huge urgency” in bringing the Celtic Warrior to All Elite Wrestling, even though some of the locker room’s biggest names are campaigning for it.
According to the report, Claudio Castagnoli and Adam Copeland have made it clear they would like Sheamus in AEW. The former WWE Champion is also understood to have had talks with other companies, though whether he has spoken directly with AEW is not confirmed.

Sheamus Free Agency: What’s the Latest?
Sheamus, whose real name is Stephen Farrelly, signaled his exit from WWE back in July 10, when he changed his social media names and posted a goodbye message. He had been with the company since 2006, racking up a decorated resume: the WWE Title, World Heavyweight Title, United States Title, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles, plus Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, and King of the Ring wins.
Sheamus Shoulder Surgery and WWE Departure
The Irishman underwent shoulder surgery in December and last wrestled on the November 17 episode of WWE Raw, where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. He’s been sidelined ever since.
With Castagnoli and Copeland publicly pushing for him, the ball is in AEW’s court — and in Sheamus’s. For now, Fightful’s take is simple: nothing seems imminent.
