AEW has already started talking about what it could do during WrestleMania 43 weekend in 2027. With WWE taking WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia that year, the company could have a pretty big opening to run something of its own in the United States — and discussions are officially underway.

Speaking on The Certified Mark Show, AEW referee and travel department manager Bryce Remsburg was asked whether the company has considered taking advantage of WrestleMania being overseas. Remsburg confirmed that conversations are happening, although nothing has been announced yet.
AEW WrestleMania 43 Weekend Plans Under Discussion
“Yeah, I think I can say that conversations are being had around what we might do that weekend. How about that?” Remsburg said. He did not reveal exactly what AEW has discussed, but noted that there are still outside factors that could play a role in whatever the company ultimately decides to do.
“And there are some factors out of our control that would contribute to our decisions. So we’ll kind of see what happens, and then we’ll see what happens.”
The update comes after AEW president Tony Khan already showed interest in doing something big around that period. Back in 2025, Khan discussed the possibility of running a major AEW show in the spring of 2027 around the time WrestleMania 43 takes place.
Why WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia Opens a Door for AEW
WrestleMania weekends in the United States traditionally attract plenty of independent wrestling shows alongside WWE’s events, with fans travelling in from around the world for a full week of wrestling. With WrestleMania 43 taking place in Saudi Arabia instead, that usual setup will be very different in 2027.
For AEW, that creates a rare opportunity. American wrestling fans who would normally be in the host city for WrestleMania weekend will instead be at home — and a major AEW event that weekend could give them a domestic destination. Whether that means a pay-per-view, a special episode of Dynamite or Collision, or something entirely different remains to be seen.
Nothing is official from AEW yet, but Remsburg’s comments confirm the company has at least discussed its options for that weekend. Exactly what AEW decides to do will depend on how those remaining factors play out — but the fact that the conversation is happening at all tells fans this is a weekend worth watching.
