WWE fans are not happy. Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley lost the Women’s Tag Team Championship to Michin and B-Fab on the October 23 episode of SmackDown after a reign of just about two weeks — and social media wasted no time ripping into the decision.

Friday’s match was supposed to be Bliss and Paxley’s first successful title defense. Instead, it became the end of their reign, and fans immediately started asking why WWE bothered putting the belts on them in the first place.

Michin and B-Fab Win Women’s Tag Team Titles After Jade Cargill Interference

The finish came with controversy. Paxley was setting up Cemetery Drive on Michin when Jade Cargill punched her behind the referee’s back, allowing Michin to capitalize with a Styles Clash for the win. Michin and B-Fab left SmackDown as the new Women’s Tag Team Champions, while Bliss and Paxley’s reign ended with zero successful defenses.

The interference does give WWE somewhere to go with Paxley and Cargill, but it has not stopped fans from questioning why Bliss and Paxley needed to lose the belts so quickly. Their reign barely had time to get started before WWE pulled the trigger on another title change.

Fans Accuse WWE of Pointless Booking After Short Bliss and Paxley Reign

One fan summed up the mood bluntly: “Way too soon, Tatum and Alexa should’ve had them for longer.” Another was confused by the entire point of the short reign, asking what the point was of Alexa and Tatum winning the belts if they could not even get one successful defense.

Others took aim at WWE’s handling of the Women’s Tag Team Championship scene as a whole. One fan argued that cutting Bliss and Paxley’s run short is not going to help WWE build up its women’s roster, writing: “Wtf are you guys thinking. You won’t build stars this way.” The frustration got even stronger from there, with another fan calling the title change the “worst decision in history” and blaming TKO for seemingly trying to get a reaction out of viewers.

The backlash points to a bigger frustration with how the women’s tag division is booked. Short reigns and hot-potato title changes make it hard for fans to invest in any team, and Bliss and Paxley — a pairing with obvious chemistry and fan support — felt like a team worth building around. Instead, their run is already over after roughly two weeks.

Whether WWE has a bigger plan behind the switch remains to be seen. Michin and B-Fab are deserving champions in their own right, and the Cargill interference plants seeds for a future feud. But for now, fans are not waiting around to hear the explanation — and plenty of viewers clearly are not thrilled about it.
