Kim Hyunjoong‘s ex-girlfriend SEEU has sparked fresh concern online after speaking about their son during a live broadcast — on the very same day news broke that she is now active as a TikTok creator. Fans and netizens say the child’s privacy should come first, no matter the history between the adults.
The worry is not about the broadcast itself, but about what comes with it. When personal details about a minor’s everyday life are shared publicly, they can travel far beyond the original stream — and once they are out there, they cannot easily be taken back.
Why Fans Are Worried About the Child’s Privacy
According to reports, SEEU brought up her son during a live broadcast on October 22, the same day it emerged that she had joined TikTok live agency Lightning Central as a creator. Some observers pointed out that discussing a child’s life in a public broadcast risks exposing him offline, especially given how widely the story has already been shared.
The concern is straightforward: the child did not choose a public life, and the adults’ long-running dispute has already put him in the spotlight more than once. Many fans argue that updates about a minor’s schooling or appearance cross a line, even when they are shared with pride.
A Decade-Long Dispute Behind the Headlines
SEEU and Kim Hyunjoong dated for about three years from 2012. Their legal battle began in 2014, when SEEU filed a lawsuit against the SS501 star over assault and injury claims. Kim Hyunjoong later issued a public apology and privately paid a settlement of around ₩600 million KRW (about $453,000 USD), and the pair briefly reconciled.
The conflict flared up again in 2015, when SEEU filed a damages suit worth about ₩1.60 billion KRW (about $1.21 million USD), and Kim Hyunjoong countersued over extortion, fraud, false accusation and defamation. The civil case ended in 2016 with a court ordering SEEU to pay ₩100 million KRW (about $75,600 USD) in damages for harming his reputation through interviews — a ruling upheld on appeal and finalized by the Supreme Court in 2020.
SEEU gave birth to Kim Hyunjoong’s son in September 2015, and after paternity questions were raised, it was confirmed that the child is his biological son. SEEU has been raising him since. Kim Hyunjoong married a non-celebrity woman in 2022 and had a son the same year.
For now, the loudest voices in the conversation are not picking sides in the old dispute — they are asking everyone, including the media, to leave the child’s private life alone.
