CORTIS Credits on TXT's Angel Bite Title Track Stir Massive Backlash From MOA

TXT’s ninth mini album PERFECT STORM has not even dropped yet, but it is already at the center of a fan firestorm — after fans noticed that rookie group CORTIS members hold songwriting and production credits on the title track, while TXT’s own members appear only on B-sides.

After BIGHIT MUSIC released the song titles and credits for the upcoming album, fans spotted that CORTIS members Martin, Juhoon, and Seonghyeon are credited as songwriters and producers on the title track “Angel Bite”. That discovery left many MOA — TXT’s fandom — frustrated, particularly because the TXT members’ own songwriting contributions on this album are limited to the B-side tracks.

The reaction online was swift and pointed. Fans questioned why, in TXT’s seventh year as a group, the members still were not being given a hand in producing their own title tracks. “It’s their 7th year as a group and y’all still don’t let them partake in producing their songs,” one fan wrote, while another argued that if TXT lack time to make music because of a hectic schedule, they should be given more free time to focus on it.

Others singled out individual members, with one fan writing that BIGHIT would “rather give an idol from a completely different group a production credit than Beomgyu, who has been trying for ages.” The broader complaint, echoed across many posts, is that TXT have repeatedly proven themselves capable of writing and producing — yet the title track carries not a single writing credit from them.

Fans Say BIGHIT Downplays TXT While Promoting CORTIS

The credits controversy has also reopened older grievances. Fans pointed to Yeonjun not receiving formal credit for developing the choreography for “Beautiful Strangers” in 2025, and to TXT’s group description on BIGHIT MUSIC’s website, which some fans called a generic placeholder compared with the extensive bio given to the rookie group. Some fans went further, claiming the label has a pattern of undermining TXT while giving juniors more visibility at their expense.

CORTIS fans, meanwhile, have defended the rookie group, arguing that its members had previously participated in other TXT songs and that if any internal politics were involved in the decisions, CORTIS themselves would have very little power over them.

Neither BIGHIT MUSIC nor either group has publicly addressed the backlash so far. With PERFECT STORM’s release approaching, the debate has become the latest flashpoint in the long-running tension between TXT’s fans and their label over creative credit — and it shows no sign of cooling before the album arrives.
