Actress Lee Da Hae has revealed the hilarious lengths she went to in order to win over her now-husband, K-pop idol Se7en — after initially rejecting his advances outright. In a candid new confession, she admitted she once told him to stop contacting her, only to later find herself praying for him to call.

On October 21, Lee Da Hae appeared in a video on Jang Young Ran’s YouTube channel, welcoming Jang Young Ran and comedian Shim Jin Hwa into her home in Shanghai, China. During the conversation, she opened up about the early days of her relationship with Se7en, revealing their romance nearly never happened because she initially was not interested in dating him.
Lee Da Hae First Rejected Se7en — Then Prayed He Would Call
According to Lee Da Hae, the two were merely acquaintances when Se7en began actively pursuing her. She admitted she thought dating him would be a bad idea. “I felt like I shouldn’t date him. I even thought I was too good for him,” she said. She eventually told Se7en to stop contacting her, seemingly putting an end to his pursuit.
But things took an unexpected turn when Lee Da Hae gradually realized she had developed feelings for him. Unfortunately, Se7en had taken her rejection seriously and stopped reaching out. As the silence continued, she found herself desperately hoping he would contact her again.
She then confessed something she had never even told Se7en himself: she had started attending early-morning prayer services specifically to pray for him to call.
From Rejection to a Nine-Year Romance and Marriage
Her prayers eventually appeared to pay off when Se7en finally reached out. This time, Lee Da Hae wasted no time responding. “I replied right away,” she said, recalling how she expressed her feelings and wondered aloud why she had suddenly started missing him so much.
The two eventually began dating, turning what looked like a failed romantic pursuit into a relationship that lasted nearly a decade before marriage. Lee Da Hae and Se7en tied the knot in May 2023 after nine years together. Now, the couple is preparing to welcome their first child, a daughter, in November 2026.
While Se7en may have spent the early days doing the chasing, it turns out his future wife was secretly praying for him to give her another chance.
