The anime sequel to MyGO and Ave Mujica now has a release date: January 8, 2027. The announcement came with a new teaser video focused mainly on the cast of Ave Mujica, confirming that the next chapter of the BanG Dream! girls-band saga is officially on the calendar.
The teaser also announced Ave Mujica’s 8th live, titled “Discrimen Fati,” which will be held on May 29-30, 2027 at K-Arena. For fans of the franchise, that pairing — a new anime date and a major live event — underlines how tightly the animated story and the real-life band performances are woven together.
MyGO and Ave Mujica sequel January 8, 2027 release date
The sequel follows BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast, both animated by studio Sanzigen and directed by Kodai Kakimoto. The two series turned the BanG Dream! formula in a darker, more emotionally raw direction, following bands whose members carry scars, secrets and complicated histories with each other.
It’s MyGO!!!!! begins with a deceptively simple question — “Would you play in a band for your whole life?” — and follows Anon, who enrols late at Haneoka Girls’ High School and rushes to find bandmates so she can fit in. She discovers Tomori, known at school as “Haneoka’s Weirdo Girl,” who has not yet formed a band, and calls on her to play together. From there, the series builds a band out of misfits whose music, as the official description puts it, “may be covered in scars and ill-formed” — but who keep moving forward even when they get lost.
Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast then picked up the story from the other side of the stage, following the masked, gothic band whose polished image hides fractures of its own. The contrast between MyGO!!!!!’s raw, stumbling honesty and Ave Mujica’s theatrical control became the engine of the franchise’s most acclaimed run, and the sequel is expected to bring both bands’ stories together.
Where to watch MyGO and Ave Mujica
Muse Asia is streaming both BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast, making them the natural catch-up watch before the January 2027 sequel arrives. With more than a year still to go before the premiere, the teaser is less a full preview than a promise: the bands are coming back, and the story is not finished.
For BanG Dream! fans, the January 8, 2027 date also gives the franchise a clear runway. The 8th live in May 2027 means the anime and the live performances will likely feed each other through the first half of the year, with new songs from the sequel potentially debuting on stage. That synergy has always been part of BanG Dream!’s appeal — the voice actresses are not just playing band members, they perform as them.
More details on the sequel’s format, staff and cast are expected closer to the premiere. For now, fans can mark January 8, 2027 in their calendars and revisit MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica to remember exactly why these two bands became the franchise’s most talked-about act.
