TXT Members Seemingly Address Soobin Deepfake Controversy on Weverse Live
Yeonjun, Taehyun and Huening Kai went live on Weverse to chat with fans, and one moment in particular caught attention. Huening Kai told viewers, “MOA, you shouldn’t put too much trust in just what’s right in front of you.” The other members quickly chimed in — “Of course, that’s not all there is to it” — while Taehyun added, “You shouldn’t trust what’s going around on the internet too much.”
On the surface, the comments came after the members discussed rumors about their upcoming unit song. Many fans, however, are taking the remarks as the members indirectly speaking out about the situation surrounding Soobin, with some believing BIGHIT MUSIC may be preventing them from addressing it directly — leaving them to reassure fans subtly instead.
BIGHIT MUSIC’s October 22 Statement on False Information
The controversy began when rumors and allegedly manipulated images targeting Soobin spread on social media. Fans quickly pushed back, insisting the images were AI deepfakes created to attack the idol, and demanded the company take action.
On October 22, BIGHIT MUSIC finally broke its silence, slamming the “false information and malicious rumors” targeting its artist and vowing to take firm legal action “with no settlement or leniency.”
Whether the Weverse comments were truly about the controversy or simply general advice, fans have latched onto them as a sign the members are aware of what MOA is seeing online — and want them to look past it.
