Buddy Matthews will no longer appear on World Series Wrestling’s upcoming Megamania tour, with the Australian promotion confirming the change just days before the tour was due to begin.

World Series Wrestling announced that Matthews will miss the Megamania tour, scheduled for October 29 through November 2, due to a scheduling conflict. The promotion shared the news in a statement on social media, saying it had just learned of the change.
WSW Confirms Buddy Matthews Megamania Withdrawal
“We have just learnt, that due to scheduling conflicts, Buddy Matthews will no longer be appearing on the WSW MEGAMANIA Tour,” the promotion said. “We’re really disappointed that Buddy won’t be joining us this time around, but we completely understand that schedules can change.”
World Series Wrestling added that it hopes to welcome Matthews back on a future tour, thanking fans for their understanding and continued support. No replacement was named in the announcement, and no further detail was given about the nature of the scheduling conflict.
For fans who had planned to see Matthews on the Megamania dates, the timing is particularly frustrating. Tour announcements often drive ticket sales and travel plans, so a late change like this lands hard — even when, as WSW stressed, it is understood to be a matter of conflicting schedules rather than any falling out.
Matthews’ Return Still Awaited
The news also continues a frustrating stretch for Matthews’ supporters. He was cleared of an ankle injury in August but has yet to return to the ring. Matthews is signed to AEW, and his absence from in-ring action has been a talking point among fans waiting for his comeback.
That context makes the WSW update doubly disappointing: a tour appearance would have been a welcome sighting for fans eager to see him back in action. Instead, the wait goes on, with no new date attached to his return in the announcement.
World Series Wrestling’s message at least leaves the door open. By saying it hopes to welcome Buddy back on a future tour, the promotion signals this is a postponement of a WSW appearance, not a closed chapter. For now, though, Megamania will go ahead without one of its advertised names, and fans will be watching for the next update on when Matthews steps back through the ropes.
