MVP is not impressed by reports of Diddy’s prison perks. The former WWE Superstar spent nine and a half years behind bars, and he says having money in prison can get you just about anything — so when he heard about the music mogul’s situation, his reaction was that this has been happening forever.

Speaking on the October 26, 2026 episode of Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze, MVP discussed the dirty side of prison life during his time in Florida’s correctional system. He claimed some guards were so desperate for money that they were running drug operations inside the very prisons they were supposed to be policing.
MVP Recalls Guards Smuggling Drugs and Taking Money From Inmates
MVP recalled one correctional officer at DeSoto Correctional Institution who allegedly had two inmates selling drugs for him. The guard supplied the drugs, the prisoners handled the sales, and everybody got a piece of the money until the whole operation came crashing down — and the guard ended up doing prison time himself.
“If you got money, them correctional officers don’t make any money,” MVP said. “Them correctional officers get paid a pittance. You know, they make less than regular cops. The correctional officers when I was in the system of Florida, they were the man who was bringing the drugs in.”
He also recalled how broke some correctional officers were during his time at Glades Correctional Institution, saying guards would borrow food from inmates. One officer named Bostick, he said, would occasionally ask him for soup and chips — and sometimes returned the favour by bringing him outside food, including Burger King.
MVP: Diddy’s Perks Are Nothing New in Federal Prison
That experience is why MVP was unfazed by Diddy’s reported privileges. He said wealthy inmates have been pulling strings inside federal prisons for years, pointing to organized crime figures who, according to him, have long enjoyed a very different prison experience from everybody else.
“So, when I found out about Diddy, what he was getting access to, like, ‘Yeah, the mob been doing that for years in federal penitentiaries,'” MVP said. “That’s not new. They don’t eat what we eat. You know, you got connections, you got money, you make things happen.”
The conversation also turned to Rick Ross, who previously worked as a correctional officer. MVP joked that Ross should have leaned into his prison guard past instead of trying to distance himself from it, given what MVP says some officers were doing on the job.
As far as MVP is concerned, Diddy’s prison perks are not a scandal unique to one famous inmate — they are just how the system has always worked for people with money.
