Dustin Rhodes is writing a second book, the wrestling veteran revealed on social media — and this time, he says, he will tell the full story of his career on his own terms. The announcement comes as Rhodes continues to recover from double knee replacement surgery.

Rhodes first put his life story into print in 2010 with “Cross Rhodes: Goldust, Out of the Darkness,” a biographical book published through Gallery Books and WWE. That book covered his rise in wrestling, including his famous run as Goldust, and the personal struggles he faced along the way.
Since then, a lot has changed. Rhodes left WWE and joined AEW, where he has remained active as a wrestler and a respected veteran presence. Now, he says the new book will go much further than the first one did.
Dustin Rhodes Second Book Will Cover His Whole Career
“I am in the middle of writing my second book,” Rhodes wrote on social media. “This one will be way more in depth over my whole career, ups and down. Back to glory and doing it my way. My hands were tied with the other company.”
That last line is the detail fans will be watching closely. Rhodes is clearly signaling that his first book, published while he was still under WWE’s umbrella, could only go so far. A book written now, outside that system, could cover chapters of his career — and his life — that were previously off-limits.
Rhodes’ career spans decades, from his early days in WCW and WWE through his reinvention as Goldust, one of the most talked-about characters of the 1990s, to his later-career revival in AEW. A book promising to cover the “ups and down” of that whole journey has obvious appeal for longtime wrestling fans.
Rhodes Still Recovering From Double Knee Surgery
The book news also arrives while Rhodes is on the sidelines. He underwent double knee replacement surgery in August, and while he said in June that he was close to being cleared, he has yet to return to the ring or to AEW television.
For now, the writing project gives fans something to look forward to while they wait for his in-ring return. No release date or publisher has been announced for the second book yet, but Rhodes’ message makes one thing clear: this will be his story, told his way.
