Per the report, sources say Marvin has signed with AAA as a trainer and occasional producer. It is a role that fits his three-decade career, which has taken him from Mexico to Japan and across the independent scene.
Ricky Marvin AAA signing brings veteran experience backstage
Marvin is a former AAA World Trios Champion alongside Averno and Chessman as part of Los OGTs, giving him direct history with the promotion he is now rejoining. His in-ring career dates back to 1995, when he began working for CMLL, before a run in Japan and more than a decade with Pro Wrestling NOAH.
He has also crossed paths with WWE, taking part in a WWE tryout in Chile in December 2018, and has remained active on the independent scene in recent years. That breadth of experience across styles and promotions is exactly what makes him a natural fit for a training role.
For AAA, which now operates under the WWE umbrella, adding a veteran trainer with Marvin’s background is a practical move. Young talent gets a coach who has worked the major Mexican, Japanese and US independent styles, while Marvin gets a steady home base after years on the road.
