Booker T WWE NXT mix-up made Monica Monroe go viral
Back in July 2025, Booker T mistakenly referred to Blake Monroe as Monica Monroe during an episode of NXT. The slip quickly went viral on social media, with fans picking up on the mix-up and Monroe herself joining in on the fun.
Speaking with Love Wrestling for a new interview, Monroe admitted the moment gave her a major boost online. She said: Yeah, I loved it. Honestly, Booker got me a lot of followers on X from that, just for saying the name.
Rather than being annoyed at the confusion, Monroe embraced it. The viral moment introduced her to a whole new audience of wrestling fans, many of whom stuck around to follow her own career.
Monica Monroe says she was the first of the Monroe Sisters
Monroe also playfully staked her claim in the growing Monroe Sisters conversation. With three Monroes now making waves in wrestling, herself, Blake and Chantel, fans have been calling for a faction, and Monroe made sure everyone knew who got there first.
She said: But now like the Monroe sisters is a thing that’s really popped off. There’s the three Monroes [Me, Blake, & Chantel], everyone wants a faction. I got to say I was the first one though. I was the first. Five years ago, I was Lady Bird Monroe.
It is a fun footnote in a wrestling landscape full of family names and factions, and Monroe’s light-hearted take shows she is enjoying the ride. What started as a commentary slip has become part of her story, and a reminder that in wrestling, sometimes the most unexpected moments are the ones fans remember.
