ESPN’s Transfer Talk reports that Mac Allister has admirers at Real Madrid, with Liverpool weighing their midfield options as the rumours continue to build around the 27-year-old World Cup winner.
Real Madrid Alexis Mac Allister transfer rumours
Mac Allister has become central to Liverpool’s midfield, which makes any move far from straightforward. Reports suggest Real Madrid remain keen on adding another midfielder in the summer of 2027, and Mac Allister’s profile, physical presence and strength in duels, fits what they are looking for.
He is under contract at Anfield until 2028, and Liverpool would be expected to resist any approach for a key player. Reports have also noted Mac Allister’s public disappointment that a new deal has not yet been offered, adding another layer of uncertainty to his situation.
That uncertainty helps explain why Liverpool are already planning ahead. According to reports, the Reds hold Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha in high regard, although he is not currently a priority target.
Liverpool Mac Allister replacements lined up
Other names on Liverpool’s central midfield shortlist include Monaco’s Lamine Camara and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, both of whom have also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months.
Separately, reports have linked Liverpool with Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi as a potential Mac Allister replacement. The 21-year-old Swiss international joined Villa from Freiburg in the summer for a reported £59.5 million including add-ons, and has made an impressive start, with two goals and three assists in five appearances across competitions.
None of this amounts to a done deal. For now, Mac Allister remains a Liverpool player, Real Madrid’s interest remains at the monitoring stage in these reports, and Liverpool’s shortlist is exactly that: a list of options if they ever need to replace him.
