Spoiler alert! It was one of the buzziest nights of the season on Dancing with the Stars, and it ended in heartbreak for two couples. Horror Movie Night on Season 35 delivered routines inspired by famous horror films from The Omen to Sinners, and since no one went home last week, the night ended in a double elimination.
Sent packing were Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess and Jackson Olson and Emma Slater, leaving eight couples to continue the race for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Dancing with the Stars Horror Movie Night Double Elimination Results
The double elimination had been confirmed at the start of the episode, after last week’s Dedication Night ended with no eliminations. Scores and viewer votes from Dedication Night were combined with this week’s results to decide who went home, and in the end, the final three in jeopardy were Jackson and Emma, Tyler and Sharna, and Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik. Tatyana and Jan were saved, while Tyler and Sharna and Jackson and Emma saw their journeys end.
Tyler Cameron, the Bachelor star, and partner Sharna Burgess had performed a Viennese waltz to “Love Song for a Vampire,” inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson and partner Emma Slater performed a contemporary dance to “That’s Life,” inspired by Joker.
Shirley Ballas Guest Judges Horror Movie Night
Adding extra drama to the night was guest judge Shirley Ballas, the prolific ballroom dancer and judge who also happens to be the mother of DWTS pro Mark Ballas. Known for her tough scoring, Shirley did not hold back, kicking off the night by giving Julia Stiles a 4, her lowest score of the competition so far.
Stiles opened the competition with an Argentine tango to “The Dogs Attack,” inspired by The Omen, a film she has a personal connection to after appearing in its 2006 remake. Despite a fiery performance with plenty of kicks, the judges found fault: Shirley pointed to a lack of tracing on the floor and asked for sharper legs and better posture, while Derek Hough called it Stiles’ worst dance of the season. The routine finished with a total of 26 out of 40.
Horror Movie Night Highlights and What’s Next
Elsewhere on the night, comedian Connor Wood shocked with his first 10s of the season, while Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson and Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov topped the leaderboard. The night’s horror-movie themes stretched from The Lost Boys to Annabelle: Creation, giving the ballroom its spookiest makeover of the year.
With eight couples remaining, the competition now heads to Disney Night, which will air on Monday, November 2, ahead of Election Day coverage. Host Alfonso Ribeiro also teased that Cynthia Erivo will join as a guest judge next week, raising the stakes even further as Season 35 barrels toward its finale.
