Park Bo Gum is coming back to the MAMA AWARDS stage — and this time he is taking on a brand-new role. The actor has been announced as the host of the 2026 MAMA AWARDS and, in a first for the ceremony, its inaugural MAMA AWARDS Ambassador.
The announcement was made on October 29 during a media day for the 2026 MAMA AWARDS held in Seoul. Attending the event were Shin Young Kwan, head of CJ ENM’s Music Content Division; Yoon Shin Hye, head of Mnet’s business division; and Park Chan Wook, head of the convention business division within the Music Content Division.
This marks Park Bo Gum’s eighth time hosting the MAMA AWARDS, a run that began back in 2017. But 2026 adds something entirely new: the launch of the “MAMA AWARDS Ambassador” program, with Park Bo Gum named as its very first ambassador alongside his hosting duties.

Yoon Shin Hye expressed strong confidence in the choice, saying, “I believe Park Bo Gum is an indispensable part of the MAMA AWARDS. His genuine passion for music has played a significant role in helping the MAMA AWARDS showcase the power of music. As the MAMA AWARDS Ambassador, he will help connect the musical journeys across both days of the ceremony.”
Park Bo Gum himself shared his excitement about the new role: “This year, as the MAMA AWARDS Ambassador, I will do my best to sincerely convey the musical messages over the two days. We’ll embark on a special journey beyond time and space with this year’s theme, ‘MUSIC INTERSTELLAR.’ As a storyteller, I’ll share a variety of stories with you. You can look forward to stages filled with surprises and emotion, from special performances to collaborative stages.”
2026 MAMA AWARDS Date, Venue and Theme
This year’s ceremony carries the theme “MUSIC INTERSTELLAR”, built around the message “MUSIC MAKES ONE.” The concept aims to offer fans the joy of discovering their own star while creating a musical universe where artists and global fans connect across time and space.
The 2026 MAMA AWARDS will take place on November 20 and 21 at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, with the ceremony also streaming on Mnet Plus. Park Bo Gum has already been celebrating the build-up, appearing in promotional content marking a decade of MAMA moments.
With Park Bo Gum now serving double duty as both storyteller and ambassador, the 2026 edition is shaping up to be one of the most star-driven MAMA ceremonies yet.
