Stanley Druckenmiller's First X Post Backs Hyperliquid Venture After $23 Million Indirect Investment

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller chose cryptocurrency as the subject of his first-ever post on X, revealing himself as an investor in Trade[XYZ], a trading platform working to bring Hyperliquid-based perpetual futures to the United States. The legendary 73-year-old investor wrote that he was “excited to be an investor” and looked forward to using the platform to improve his investment process, according to CoinDesk’s report.

The post — his debut on the social platform — drew a one-word reply from Elon Musk: “Interesting.” That prompted a response from pseudonymous Trade[XYZ] founder Shoku, who suggested bringing the platform’s perpetual futures directly to X. CoinDesk noted there was no indication the companies were discussing such an arrangement.

The endorsement came alongside news that Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the NYSE’s parent company, is partnering with Trade[XYZ] to establish a regulated U.S. venue for perpetual futures — leveraged contracts with no expiration dates. The proposed ICE[XYZ] market would offer 24/7 trading in contracts tied to cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities and currencies, pending approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). ICE will operate the dedicated U.S. exchange and clearing infrastructure and is taking a minority stake in Trade[XYZ]; financial terms were not disclosed.

$23 Million in PURR: Druckenmiller’s Indirect Hyperliquid Stake

Separately, a second-quarter regulatory filing showed Druckenmiller’s Duquesne Family Office held 2.94 million shares of Hyperliquid Strategies Inc. (NASDAQ:PURR), worth $23.15 million — an indirect public-market proxy for exposure to HYPE, the token behind the on-chain exchange, which reported 20 million HYPE tokens and $103 million in cash as of April 29.

Not everyone is convinced about the X debut. KuCoin’s news desk flagged the claim as unverified, noting no verified Druckenmiller account has been confirmed on the platform and that no filing references @tradexyz. Readers should treat the announcement as reported claims, not verified fact, until confirmed through official channels.

This is a news report, not investment advice. Perpetual futures are high-risk leveraged products.
