Good Books TV Series: A Novel Set in the Publishing World
“Good Books” is set behind the scenes in the world of publishing — a milieu Anam knows intimately as one of contemporary fiction’s most decorated voices. Her debut novel “A Golden Age” won the 2008 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book, and she was named one of Granta’s Best Young British Novelists in 2013.
The pairing with Alison Brown is intriguing: Brown’s credits on “Emily in Paris” and “Younger” suggest a series with a sharp, commercial edge — a smart fit for a story drawn from the literary world, where ambition and ego collide.
Kudos and Pacesetter Team Up on Good Books Adaptation
Kudos, one of the UK’s most established production companies, joins Pacesetter Productions in developing the series. The exclusive first report stops short of naming a broadcaster or platform, so casting and premiere details will follow in the coming months.
Anam’s novels have long drawn awards attention — her recent novel “Uprising” was shortlisted for the 2026 Orwell Prize for Political Fiction. If “Good Books” carries her trademark mix of political insight and intimate character work, the small screen is about to get a very good book indeed.
