The Undervale is checking in for another stay. Netflix has renewed ‘Haunted Hotel’ for a third season, with the animated horror-comedy from Rick & Morty writer Matt Roller set to return in 2027 — just weeks after season 2 premiered on October 9, 2026.

Haunted Hotel Season 3: Scripts Already Written
Series creator Matt Roller had already finished the season 3 scripts before the renewal was announced, telling The Bulwark Goes Hollywood podcast on October 16 that he was ready to hit the ground running. “Season three is full of the biggest, funniest, scariest, saddest, and Abaddoniest stories we’ve ever told, and I can’t wait for everyone to see them. Candles!” he said in a statement.
The Undervale Cast and What’s Next
The show follows Katherine (Eliza Coupe), a single mom running the world’s most haunted hotel, alongside Will Forte, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides and Jimmi Simpson. Season 1 — ten episodes — has racked up more than 15 million views since September 2025, and season 2’s eight episodes debuted with a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The renewal continues a strong streak for Netflix animation: with the cast and creator all back, the Undervale looks ready to welcome even more guests.
