Based on the hit Japanese series of the same name, Doctor X is a medical noir drama starring Kim Ji Won as Gye Soo Jung, a genius surgeon who proves what it truly means to be a doctor through pure skill alone — even as she “operates” on a corruption-ridden medical establishment.
A 10-Year-Old Patient and an Impossible Choice
The next case centers on a 10-year-old pediatric cancer patient who needs collaborative treatment from both general surgery and neurosurgery. With the medical gap threatening to postpone the difficult operation, Gye Soo Jung makes a defiant call: despite opposition from those around her, she declares she will perform the surgery alone.
Newly released stills capture the moment — Gye Soo Jung standing beside the child patient with an unwavering gaze, embodying the show’s “medical dark hero” tag. Another set of stills shows a warmer beat: the young patient suddenly hugging Gye Soo Jung, who looks lost and surprised, stooping down to the child’s eye level yet hesitating to hug back. Her complicated expression hints at the personal history the episode promises to explore.
