Miki Yoshikawa, the creator of A Couple of Cuckoos, is returning to the screen with a brand-new adaptation. Hiragi-san’s House of Vampires manga is getting a TV anime adaptation from TMS’s Unlimited Produce, with a first visual already unveiled for the upcoming project.

Hiragi-san’s House of Vampires Anime: From One-Shot to TV Series
Yoshikawa first launched the series as a one-shot in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2019. Bessatsu Shonen Magazine then picked it up as a full serialization in 2021, and the manga now has six volumes in circulation — more than enough material for a first cour.
The story follows Shota Minamoto, a junior-high student and an orphan in a children’s home. One day, he is adopted by a family living in a luxurious, Japanese-style estate. Welcomed warmly by everyone, Shota slowly starts letting his guard down — but this family carries a secret that the world could never know: they are vampires. Kodansha describes it as a “cozy, bloody love comedy,” a striking mix that fits Yoshikawa’s track record of romantic chaos.
A Couple of Cuckoos Creator Tries a Different Kind of Family
For fans who know Yoshikawa only from The Cuckoo’s Fiancee (published in English as A Couple of Cuckoos), this is a very different flavor of family storytelling. The manga is also available in English on Kodansha’s K Manga digital platform, so newcomers can catch up before the anime airs.
The involvement of TMS’s Unlimited Produce is another reason to watch this project closely — the studio group has become a reliable home for comedy-driven adaptations. A broadcast window has not been announced yet, but with a visual out, more staff and cast reveals should follow soon.
