Kim Na Ra Wedding: 8 Years of Love, One Paper Saying No
On the day before the wedding, Kim Na Ra shared: “No roadmap, just us. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Vroom vroom. Tomorrow.” She continued, “After 8 years of loving each other, challenging norms, fighting for our place, and simply existing as ourselves in a country that still doesn’t legally recognize our love… WE’RE GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW!!!”
“Yep. In South Korea, same-sex marriage is still not legal,” she added. “We can literally go to register our marriage, and all we’ll get is a piece of paper telling us NO. How romantic, right? lol”
“We Don’t Need Permission to Celebrate Our Love”
But the declaration was defiant, not defeated: “We don’t need permission to celebrate our love, and we’re definitely not waiting around for the world to catch up.” She said they want to show “what it looks like to build a beautiful life together, unapologetically, on our own terms.”
“And if our little love story can give even one queer couple out there the courage to believe in their own future, that would mean everything to us,” she said. “Here’s to love, to choosing each other, and to making our own damn way.”
