Hiromasa Okujima’s Shijūkara ga Naku Koro ni (When The Japanese Tit Sings) is wrapping up — the manga will end with its eighth chapter, the author announced on Saturday. The short-lived series, which follows the everyday lifestyle of a 41-year-old businessman, debuted on Fusosha’s Manga Spa! platform in December 2025 and is bowing out less than a year into its run.

Shijūkara ga Naku Koro ni Manga Ending Explained
The announcement is a quick turnaround for a series that only began serialization in December 2025. While short, the manga joins a crowded catalog for Okujima, who has been juggling multiple series at once — a pace that makes the abrupt ending less surprising, even if it will disappoint readers who picked it up at launch.
Fans of the author will not be short on material, though. Okujima launched the Together with Serial-san (Serial-san to Issho) manga in Shueisha’s Grand Jump Mucha magazine on February 25, and it is currently being released in English on Shueisha’s new global digital manga platform MANGA MILLION.
Okujima’s Other Manga: Baban Baban Ban Vampire and More
The author’s best-known ongoing work remains Baban Baban Ban Vampire, which has been running in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine since October 2021. The manga hit its 14th compiled book volume on August 6, inspired an anime that streamed on Netflix in January 2025, and spawned a live-action film that opened in July 2025.
English-speaking readers are also about to get more Okujima: Dark Horse has licensed Baban Baban Ban Vampire and will release the first volume on November 10. Meanwhile, Viz Media’s SuBLime imprint previously released his boys-love manga Bad Boys, Happy Home, co-created with SHOOWA, in July 2021.
