Kilmarnock blew a lead twice against 10-man St Johnstone on Saturday, drawing 2-2 at Rugby Park in a match that moved them off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership but was greeted by loud boos from their own supporters.

It was a frustrating afternoon for under-pressure manager Neil McCann, whose side have managed only two league wins all season. St Johnstone played for 80 minutes with 10 men, yet Kilmarnock couldn’t hold either of their leads.
McCann: “We Need the Support More Than Ever”
“The most galling thing is they’ve scored two goals with 10 men — that’s a sore one,” McCann told BBC Scotland. “We need the support more than ever. The players are working with everything they’ve got. There’s no lack of willingness or effort to win games.”
He admitted the uneasy atmosphere is affecting his players: “I felt the uneasiness around the stadium, even when we were 2-1 up. And the players looked like they were being affected by it.”
Stats Look Fine, but Results Don’t
The numbers make the dropped points even harder to stomach. Kilmarnock carved out 22 goal attempts, their highest total in a league match this season, and attempted 542 passes, also a season high in the Premiership. They just couldn’t finish the chances.
With one point from the last nine available, things don’t get easier. Kilmarnock’s final match before the international break is away to defending champions Celtic, where they haven’t won since October 2012 and have conceded 13 goals on their last three league visits. “We’re all hurting that we don’t win the games,” McCann said.
