Kelani Jordan left NXT Halloween Havoc 2026 still holding the NXT Women’s Championship, but her win over Wren Sinclair is already mired in controversy — the commentary team repeatedly called attention to Jordan’s foot on the ring ropes during the decisive pin.
The competitive title match saw Sinclair push the champion to the brink, only for Jordan to escape with the gold in a finish that has fans debating whether the reign should have ended in the ring.

Kelani Jordan vs Wren Sinclair: Controversial Finish Explained
Sinclair came out aggressive, taking the fight to Jordan early and sending the champion crashing to the floor. Jordan turned the tide by targeting Sinclair’s arm and wrist — driving her hand into the turnbuckles and applying a Fujiwara armbar — and later exposed a turnbuckle by stripping its protective covering.
Both women traded near falls: Jordan hit a frog splash and a 450 splash after pulling Sinclair into the exposed turnbuckle, but Sinclair kept kicking out. Sinclair answered with an overhead butterfly suplex and her Final Wrench submission, which had Jordan fighting desperately to escape.
Foot on the Ropes: Why the Finish Is Being Questioned
Jordan escaped the Final Wrench by sending Sinclair into the top turnbuckle, then caught her in a rollup — but placed her foot on the rope for additional leverage while securing the three-count. The commentary team repeatedly flagged the illegal advantage, making it clear the champion had bent the rules to retain.
Despite the questionable finish, the official result stood. Sinclair came dangerously close to capturing the gold, and the controversy practically demands a rematch — whether Jordan faces consequences or gets to walk away clean remains to be seen on NXT television.
