With the Week 9 slate falling on Halloween, college football teams went all-in on the spookiness with their postgame trolling. From tombstones to haunted graphics, the top college football trolls from Week 9 delivered some of the season’s best social media jabs.
Several programs leaned into the eerie vibes of the holiday — none more elaborately than Utah, which kept its undefeated 2026 start rolling with a 49-25 win over Cincinnati. The Utes’ postgame win graphic was a full horror scene: an eerie door cracked open, glowing red, with only a pair of football gloves visible behind it — and a banged-up, cracked-open can of Skyline Chili lying at the foot of the doorway. The caption? “There’s nowhere left to run.”

Iowa Buries Wisconsin, South Carolina Haunts Oklahoma
Iowa stayed on theme after blanking Wisconsin 30-0, posting a tombstone engraved with the final score and the Badgers’ logo, a Hawkeye perched on top, captioned simply: “Buried the Badgers.” The shutout kept Wisconsin winless in four tries under Luke Fickell against the Hawkeyes, with the aggregate score now a staggering 124-16.
On the road at Norman, South Carolina racked up 521 yards of total offense in a 42-25 rout of Oklahoma. As Sooners fans hit the exits early, the Gamecocks compared the half-empty Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to a “Spirit Halloween” store — “Wow, there are a lot of people in this Spirit Halloween!”
Syracuse’s Orange Pony Club and Duke’s Beatdown
One of Week 9’s top upsets came from Syracuse, which took down ranked SMU 30-27 at home, with the winning touchdown toss from Steve Angeli to Noah Meyers coming with less than 20 seconds left. The Orange’s troll mixed mascots and music: “Welcome to the Orange Pony Club” — a nod to SMU’s mustang mascot and Chappell Roan’s hit “Pink Pony Club.”
And Duke delivered one of the most thorough beatdowns of the season, 47-2 over Boston College, closing out a Halloween Saturday full of fright — mostly for the losers.
