Will Ospreay vs Callum Newman: United Empire Splits at Wrestle Kingdom 21

Tensions have been building between the two men ever since “The Aerial Assassin” left Newman in charge of United Empire, and the arrangement has not gone smoothly. Newman has done things his way while Ospreay hasn’t always agreed — with Ospreay’s returns to Japan seen as overshadowing Newman’s leadership.

The breaking point came at NJPW Power Struggle, where the two teamed up to challenge the Knockout Bros (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) for the IWGP Tag Team Titles. The match ended in disqualification when Newman used a chair — and the United Empire partners started fighting over that decision during the match itself, continuing to brawl after the bell.

“King vs Prince at Tokyo Dome”

Once separated, Newman challenged his mentor outright, and the match was made official for Wrestle Kingdom 21 at the Tokyo Dome. “KING vs Prince at Tokyo Dome?” reads the official tease, framing the veteran against the young “Prince of Pace.”

The storyline gives Newman — hand-picked by Ospreay to lead United Empire — his biggest singles spotlight yet, while Ospreay gets a Tokyo Dome stage to remind everyone who the real king of the faction is.
