By PlayStation has pulled back the curtain on October’s batch of PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions, headlined by Mafia: The Old Country — and most of the lineup lands on October 20, 2026. It’s a packed month spanning crime drama prequels, looter-shooters, spooky season picks, and retro classics for Premium subscribers.

Mafia: The Old Country Leads the Charge
Kicking things off is Mafia: The Old Country, the prequel to the original Mafia trilogy. For players looking for a tight, story-driven experience that won’t devour dozens of hours, it’s an ideal weekend game — a compelling narrative paired with solid action gameplay, all wrapped in the series’ signature period-crime atmosphere.
Also joining the catalog is a PS Plus re-release of Horizon Forbidden West. The open-world adventure plays things fairly safe by genre standards, but it remains one of the best-looking games on PlayStation — a visual showcase worth revisiting.
Spooky Picks and Fresh Experiences
October wouldn’t be complete without horror, and the catalog delivers. Mycopunk offers an engaging looter-shooter loop built around tearing through fungal enemies, while Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 serves up a properly spooky treat for the season.
Then there’s The Midnight Walk, which comes highly recommended. Blending handcrafted art with a creepy dark-fantasy design, the game — from the minds behind Lost in Random — tasks players with surviving and outsmarting the many monsters hunting the adorable Potboy. If that wasn’t enough, the enhanced Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition (PS5, PS4) offers a lengthy action-RPG epic, and Monster Energy Supercross 25 (PS5) delivers a faithful recreation of supercross motorcycle competition.
Classics, Trials, and Monthly Games
Rounding out the list are two additions to the PlayStation Classics library: Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition, both on PS5 and PS4 — note you’ll need a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription to access these retro titles.
Premium members also get fresh Game Trials: starting October 20, you can sample Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell 2 free for a few hours.
And don’t forget — all PS Plus members can claim three monthly freebies: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. You only have until November 2 to grab them, so don’t sleep on it.
