All good things come to an end — and “The Ordinary Jackpot” closed out its run with a finale that proved winning the lottery was only the beginning. For Gong Eun Tae (Lee Jun Hyuk), the money was sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse. But the final episodes delivered the payoff viewers had been waiting for, reminding everyone that the real jackpot was never the cash.

Eun Tae’s Plan Finally Pays Off
This was a show that knew exactly how to keep viewers on edge. Every episode felt like things were slipping away for Eun Tae and his team, their chance at success constantly sliding through their fingers — only to reveal that they had figured everything out all along. That trick never got old, and it made the moment Eun Tae’s plan against CGM actually worked feel genuinely earned.
Once Honsung regained the upper hand in the market, the team got to set their own terms. As Yang Joon Ho (Seo Hyun Woo) put it, the industry is ever-changing — someone at the top can crash to the bottom overnight. Eun Tae learned to work hard, but more importantly, to work smarter.
A Defeat Without Villains
One of the finale’s most refreshing moves was how it handled Jung Sun Hyuk (Oh Dae Hwan). When his scheme against Honsung backfired, he admitted defeat and backed down — but his ending was never cruel. Sun Hyuk was never a heinous villain; he was simply human. His actions revolved around business, never anything fully personal. He stayed true to himself to the very end — cynical or just a realist, depending on how you see it. And in a graceful touch, he and Eun Tae parted ways without hard feelings, two flawed people who had come to terms with each other.
Rewards for the Whole Team
The team’s perseverance paid off across the board: Eun Tae earned a promotion to deputy director, while Joon Ho was rewarded for his dedication with a team leader position after the sales division restructured. Watching how far they had grown as a unit made those victories feel especially gratifying.
Not every good intention led to a good outcome, though. When Eun Tae personally asked the CEO to make Lee Ji Hye (Ha Yul Ri) a permanent employee, she was fired on the spot — a plot twist that stung. Luckily, Eun Tae had a backup plan: sending her to Italy to work with their new commercial partner.
In the end, Eun Tae’s dull, suffocating life changed not just because of the money, but because of his own will. His actions were the spark that ignited the movement at Honsung — and he didn’t do it alone. His perspective, his prospects and his team all improved, making his life easier and happier. That, the finale suggests, is the exact definition of “The Ordinary Jackpot.”
