Chris Jericho has landed a big acting role: per Deadline, he will star as Gorgeous George in “The Greatest,” the Muhammad Ali limited series streaming on Prime Video. It’s a perfect casting on paper — George’s flamboyance, swagger and promo ability famously influenced a young Ali.

Chris Jericho as Gorgeous George in The Greatest on Prime Video
The limited series chronicles the life of Muhammad Ali, and all eight episodes release November 4. Gorgeous George, the theatrical wrestling icon who debuted in 1932 and retired in 1962, is widely credited with shaping Ali’s showmanship — so Jericho stepping into the role is a nod to wrestling’s influence on the greatest boxer of all time.
Jericho will appear as George in episode four, with Jaalen Best playing Ali. The role continues a busy acting year for Jericho, who starred in CBS’ Tracker and Apple TV’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles this year, and is set to appear on the second season of Dexter: Resurrection.
Jericho’s Acting Run Keeps Growing
While still active in wrestling, Jericho is stacking an increasingly serious acting resume — and playing a wrestling legend in a prestige Prime Video series feels like a natural peak. With The Greatest dropping its full season November 4, wrestling fans won’t have to wait long to see Jericho’s take on the man who inspired Ali’s bravado.
