Nico Nicholson is launching a brand-new manga titled Yosojito Konkatsu in Kodansha’s Be Love magazine in the next issue on December 1, the magazine announced on Friday. The series follows the author’s My Lovesick Life as a ’90s Otaku, which ended its run in 2023.

Nico Nicholson’s new manga Yosojito Konkatsu
Be Love teases the series with the tagline: “I was fine with living alone, however — the search for something before the ‘however’ begins!” The wording hints at a romance built around a heroine who was comfortable on her own until something — or someone — changed the equation.
The new launch marks Nicholson’s return to Be Love after finishing My Lovesick Life as a ’90s Otaku (Inishie Otaku no Koiwazurai) in Kodansha’s Kiss magazine in February 2023. Kodansha shipped the fourth and final volume in May 2023, and Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English, releasing the fourth volume in August 2024.
From ’90s otaku nostalgia to marriage hunting
Nicholson’s last series won fans for its nostalgic take on otaku romance, so the move to a “konkatsu” (marriage hunting) premise is a natural evolution — a story about adult women navigating love and commitment, told with the same sharp observational humor.
More details on the cast and story are expected as the December 1 debut approaches. Expect a full announcement in the December issue of Be Love magazine.
